Well,

I thought I had sorted the misfire the other day, but its now back.

Car again, has no power, and needs to be in Sport mode to get anywhere when above 40mph, or a slight incline.

Have just ordered a DIS pack, Well, I say ordered, picked it up from eBay (Thanks Mark) for 99p  ;)

So, will fit this and see how it goes.

Had some of the plugs out today, to check. 4 of them out, two inaccesible. Couldn't get No1 Throttle cable mounting plate and valve in the way (Dont have any E-Torx sockets, so no chance), and No6, as didn't have time to take the wipers off.

So, Plugs looked okay, Not cracked or anything. Thionking of repalcing them anyway, how much for 6 on Trade Club?

Any other thoughts if not cured by this and DIS pack?

Set of 6 plugs should be around £15, let me know and I'll pick you up a set.

I can lend you the sockets no probs (would offer to assist, but after today I will be totally bogged down with work!  :( )

I have 3 or 4 including an accidental duplicate

With a universal joint and a short extension piece and spark plug socket I've managed to remove my plugs twice.

Didn't need to disturb the throttle mounting and did 1,3,5 without doing much to anything.

2,4,6 require the ICV removal and moving of the wiring tray but not the scuttle. 6 is a pig though.

My plug socket is a bar that is about 10" long, so it doesn't bend, guess I could try the normal socket with an extension bar though.

Okay,

Will see what the replacement DIS pack flasgs up, and take it from there.

Car is due a service, but just want to get it running right first.

I've got a feeling its the DIS pack - change that and see what happens then....

Yes, Please do, as this looks like a pig of a job, But then so did the rocker gaskets, and that looked (i did say Looked!) easy.

Another question Mark, What is the specified Torque of the DIS pack mounting bolts (Are they 4xE12)?

Not sure on the size to be honest....think they are 4 off E10.

The DTM method involves removal of the scuttle cover and reaching over the back of the engine (easier with breathers disconnected etc and knee resting on the slam panel), using a suitable ratchet plus socket plus small extension for the verticle ones (as per cyphers) or a flexi screw driver drive for the horizontal ones..

I then ease it across the back of the engine to the drivers side (very tight fit but, it can be done) to remove it.

Refit is reverse of removal.....
