Been fitting new front wheel arch liners to the estate this evening and found an unusual add on under the front wheel arch above the self leveling pump...

Lets just say it makes a familiar get out of the way type noise when you apply 12 volts!

dare I connect it back up again!

Rover 75 in the outside lane.....what a pub on wheels......you dont see them on the road until the government has paid out the winter heating allowance and the old boys are feeling flush ;)

You want one of those old fashioned, floor mounted dip switches to connect it to ( McB will remember them) you have a spare space where the lefthand pedal should be.

p.s. Im without wires!

I couldn't possibly remember who, but someone I once knew had and ex-police Rover Sterling. It still had the original whailer fitted and working, plus intermittent headlamp flashes and blue grille lights. It evcen had the matrix board in the parcel shelf, but alas no control unit for that.

Only ever got tried once and did have the effect, but the driver of the Rover was more scared using it than the cars that got out the way. You only need one genuine policeman to see/here it and you are in very, very deep doo doo. Not least is 'impersonating a police officer', which is a very serious charge.

I think you could have more fun with it if you put it on Ebay as a collectors item. Some numpty who also has a yellow hi-vis, a white cap and a white MV6 saloon 3.2 manual or something will buy it.

Mark,

Can I possibly help you releive your Estate of some extra weight, and suggest that maybe to coply fully with the Road Traffic Act that you remove this "Device" immeadiatly, and send it my way?

Here's a thought - why not connect it in parallel to the alarm sounder? I will be far more effective in protecting your car than the standard alarm siren....

Must be purely down to the driver then. The 0-60 on a 2.5 Rover 75 is exactly the same as 2.5 Omega. The rover has a slightly higher bhp(174 as opposed to 167). Didn't we have trouble on another forum about a very similar thing, ie old men who drove around in slow cars.
