Any estimates on a 94 2.5 manual cd estate, 105000 miles history with recent cam belt change? but NO MOT?

A 94 car, without MOT? Virtually nothing I am afraid.

People won't buy something of that age without confirmation it is roadworthy, in the form of an MOT cert.

Always after a project mate. Next one arrives on Sunday, plus that may be doubled up as I have my eye on another, but I also have one hell of a week coming up, so busy busy busy..........

Your right about it being a bug once you start.. already trying to source my second project. - Which should prove more popular when selling:

'96 CDX TD Estate. - Forsale locally dead autobox

Even better when if found all those AR25's in my local scrappy. My only problems i can see is getting those out of the scraped cars. How hard is it removing an autobox? - I take it you have to do all of it from underneath the car?

That poses a problem in the scrappy as they are usually bottomed out with no wheels on them, so acess to the underneath of the car is hard, unless i turn it over!!  ;D

Tunnie.

The gearbox that dies in the 2.5TD is the AR25... so replacing with another AR25 is not wise.
Replace it with an AR35.Much better suited.

Also I would not buy an autobox from a scrap yard. Get one from a breaker where hopefully they will have checked it and give some semblance of a warranty.

Believe me, you don't want to fit a gearbox only to find it does not work.  >:(
