Hello boys, and girls, I'm back !

Had a great time, and am one happy bunny.  

 From Doncaster to St Austall, door to door in my trusty 2.5 V6  I got what I think is a good mpg  33.4, and I wasn't driving like my granny.  On way back, I drove even less like my granny and got 32.3.   Well chuffed with that result.   [smiley=tekst-toppie.gif]

Fantastic mile eater, ain't they.  Even when I do Brackley to South of France in a day, it's not a chore....

longest run i have done so far is brackley to heathrow and back taking my parents to the airport.

Its like having an arm chair that can sit @ 80mph all day long

It was a joy to drive, no stress ,wasn't tired when I got there, and as you say, a fantastic mile eater.

Had a laugh on the way back though.  Traffic reports said there was a lane closure on the M5 due to a caravan turning over, so there would be delays while they "removed" it. 5 mins mins later we joined the queue. As we past the accident I couldn't help laughing, there was tractor with the jaws of death attatched, taking huge chunks out of the caravan and dumping them on a low loader.

Hope I never brakedown on the motorway and have to be "Removed"   :o

Only 80 Tunnie....There must be summat wrong!  Change the petrol filter, air filter, cambelt, pollen filter, oil and filter, brake fluid, and anything else you can think to change.

Ronnie McB has done so many of those cambelts, he can do them with his eyes shut ;)

Hmmm,  anyone out there fancy letting RB change their cambelt, with his eyes shut?

we could do a filmed How2, he could do it by feel.  Mrs McB said he's good with his hands  ;D

Pretty good mpg though, I still can't get much better than 25.....perhaps I should stick a brick under the loud pedal!! ;D

Going down to St Agnes in Cornwall on 18th August for long weekend, this is about 325 miles so I'll see how the old barge performs on a long run.

Same car, would be interesting to see results. :)

Believe it or not I've had my miggie for a year now and covered just over 10k miles, but I've not had the chance to give it a real long run, especially on M ways. Most of my journeys are to/from work which is about 50 miles a day through town and country routes and mpg rarely gets better than 25 :-/
Not sure if this is good or bad as some guys on here get a fair bit better than that.

My 3ltr manual averaged 22 over the past 3100 miles since last reset, over mixed roads, not too much distance on the motorway/dual carriageway.

But it is LOADS of fun on the twisties..  

Within the limits of the car ..   that is... ;D

My other half uses the car most, too and from work mainly, town/country routes, averages mid 20s.  I think the Omega likes to stretch her legs on a good long run.

I have covered around 1100 miles in the last fortnight averaging 15mpg for towing and short runs to the beach.

Luckily there were 3 LPG stations near me.

In the lanes around Helford area you are lucky to get over 40 and autos usually never get to top, plus stop start work.

Towing at road limits hurts fuel consumption however I got from Okehampton to Worcester on one tank of gas

:o :o :o Ouch!! but I know what it's like. I used to tow a large trailer full of mobile disco equipment in my previous car (Pug 605 SVDT), and when I took it down to Cornwall it used to slaughter the fuel economy by a good half.

15mpg is not too bad - equivalent of a Diesel on 35mpg
