Title: Power Sounder Battery Replacement. Post by Kev on 09. Aug 2006 at 13:44
Can anyone supply instructions for power sounder battery replacement.
Now i've fixed the clicking door i'm compelled to hush the four chirps i get everytime i park up. Makes it sound like i have one of those old Moss alarms fitted! :-? |

Find the power sounder (often under scuttle), crack it open, and see if you can get replacement batts (the place that used to sell them stopped doing them)

Is there any special procedure before disconnecting, other than ignition on then off?
Hopefully i'll be able to get replacements from RS Componets, they're usually quite good. |

I think the battery is non standard.
To disconnect, switch on ignition, switch off and within 15s disconnect the car battery. Of course, make sure you have all your radio codes first! |

Power sounder is a seperate alarm that goes off if someone disconnects the main car battery. If you have one, there should be a sticky stuck on the plastic that covers the rads, warning of power sounder fitted. Its to try to stop someone trying to break in/nick your car and them trying to stop main alarm going off by disconnecting the main battery HTH |

I ordered two of these and decided not to use them. I sent them off to another member(egcc) and he said the batteries in his power sounder were different. |
