Okay buisnessmen and wheeler dealers of the forum ... ;)

Like many on here i do a fair bit of ebay trade.

I tend to use parceline for large items but i fail to believe anything to do with the royal mail is the cheapest on the market  :(

So who do you all use to post/ courier products. I am loking for reputable but bargain basement.

Everyone i have checked out so far are dearer than parcelforce - apart from postvan - who have let me down twice,

Anyone got any tips?

never sent anything though them, but lots of stuff i buy online comes from Initial Citylink, always fast and easy arange new delivery times. They generally seam very good.

aaaaah but cheap are they? lol going to check there site now.... ;)

and i think this may be a good call tunnie, seems they are a bit cheaper but at this time of night a bit complicated to make sure

basic charges up to 10kilos then 50p a kilo so......they may be better  :D

ANC - sacked
TNT - sacked
ParcelForce - sacked (twice)
CityLink - sacked
DHL - sacked (Drop it, Hide it, Lose it)
ParcelFusion - Unbelievable!!!!! sacked them very quickly
Royal Mail Special delivery - never had a problem
Palletways (heavy stuff) lots of problems.
My mate Dave with his Van - useless fat idle git
Me delivering it - never let myself down yet, or if I did I didn't tell myself about it so I think i got away with it.

You volunteering Ronnie - will leave it on my doorstep for you to pick up mate.

Anytime betwen 6am and 8am is fine  :)

Let us know how you get on shipping stuff with Initial Citylink if you chose them... if i ever strip a car down for spares be useful to know!

I work for a National parcel delivery company (not prepared to admit which one on here!) & to be honest I wouldn't use us if I was sending anything fragile!
You'd be amazed (or maybe you wouldn't) at the way some items are handled.

To be fair aint all courier companys the same....a friend used to work for a courier firm and lets just say not everything arrived and if it did it was treated like a piece of junk. ::)

I dare say they are, whatever I post I make sure it's well padded & wrapped!

I used to use Citylink when i was selling laptops......never had a problem with them...laptop always got there in one piece.....used to cost me between £10-£15.

I get a lot of stuff through city link delivered, they are definitely not that careful so if you use these pad it well. I tend to send stuff recorded delivery with royal mail and never had a problem, plus they have an office nearby ;)

For large heavy things, I use palletline.  http://www.palletline.co.uk/  Fit whatever onto a pallet and it get wrapped in oodles of clingfilm.  £50 for 2 day uplift and delivery to local depot.  A little more for overnight.  Certainly worked out relatively cheap for two 45 gallon drums of gunge and other canvas, tentage and stuff.

Interlink Never had any problems yet!!!!!!!!

At the office where I work we have gone through just about every courier known to civilisation and they've all been sacked for various reason - mostly for either losing stuff or not getting it there when they're supposed to. We've been using Citylink for about 4 years now and while they're not 100% perfect they appear to be about the best out there and reasonably priced.

Failing that I can only suggest McBurgerpost ;D

Initial citylink sure seem to be cheap and having had deliveries from them i cant fault them.

Problem is there doesnt seem to be any register ability on there website so i have had to mail them and ask to become a customer.

Need them to come back today as i want a pick up tomorrow when i am off.

Any one used initial website?

I tend to use my dads sprinter van he used to work for a courier company but has gone part time for the moment. :)

I use interparcel courier services, choice of four discounted services. Not let me down yet and all done on line.

I will follow this link up as my best bet for new courier ( initial citylink) want me to commit to £100 of traffic every month. Whilst some months i am over and most months i do this i dont want to have to be "contracted"

sorry another one bites the dust - they want £57 to a deliver a front bumper when parcelforce will do it for £13.85

I've used ShittyLink a few times, never a problem. Always taken parcel to their depot though. Else, RM is all I use.

Never sent anything by them, but the only 4 times Amtrak have tied to deliver a parcel, they've failed. Excuses include; van broke down, accident, "too busy!!!", and a "you are not our customer so we are not telling why we didn't deliver".  Needless to say, don't use Amtrak if you want to keep your customers!

DHL quoted me about £75 to collect and deliver.  Securicor Omega (!) did the same job within 2 day for £15 Would recomend them (I estimate weight at 10Kg which is what they billed me for even though actual weight was around 14Kg) Payed by credit card over phone

At the office, we initially tried CityLink - and had poblems with around one third of thr deliveries (lost, or just damaged, or on one occasion delayed for three days because of 'shoratge of drivers'!).


We changed to TNT a few years ago, and we never looked back. They haven't lost/damaged/delayed a single shipment so far! And the drivers look like guys you can actually have a chat with. Problem is TNT is more expensive than some - but I guess that figures...

Securicor Omega and DHL are the same outfit.

I would STRONGLY advise against using them. Sent alloys with them (well packaged might i add) and one got completely wrecked. I'm not talking a scratch here, i'm talking wrecked. They taped the package back up with their own branded 'Securicor' tape and tried to pass it off as nothing had happened. Doh!

After a lot of chasing they finally admitted liability and paid out, but that for me is my last. If i was at my other PC i'd post some pics of the damage, quite horrific. Looked like the wheel had been dragged behind the lorry face down all the way down the M6.  >:(

I can honestly say i've never had any problems (touch wood) with Royal Mail or Parcelforce.
