Title: An odd one, wrong service schedules.
Post by MadOnVaux on 19. Aug 2006 at 15:07
The service book i have with my Omega, is an early facelift book, and thus features the 2.5TD schedule rather than the later 2.2DTi schedule.

Now the 2.5TD is down in the schedule to be serviced at 12months or 6000miles, so mine has FSH and has been serviced and stamped up in the book at the stated miles on the schedule.

Now, im pretty sure, although not 100%, that the 2.2DTi is a longer mileage interval then the 2.5TD, at 10,000miles...so should i continue doing the service at 6k or shift it to the 10k that i think attains to my engine?

Going by my last cars milages, i do approx 8k per year, so id be servcing it at 12month intervals if i swapped, rather than the 6k as done previously.

Opinions please people :)

That will be service Plan G then:

Same as the petrol engines 10K or 1 year.

If you have access to a legal version of TIS then it has service info in it....

A 12mth, 8k service would be fine I should think.

Certainly won't do any harm to carry on changing the oil more regularly...

Hi.
Oil should be changed yearly irrespective of mileage, so I suggest picking a memorable date in the summer (start of school holidays?  :D)

Eddie.

That's if you do it outside on the drive like I do!

Personally, I would say oil and filter change every 5,000/6 months.

Best thing you can do to your engine to extend life (especially the diesels).

And I second that.  Don't forget that oil not only lubricates, but it cools, cleans and protects.

I had planned on changing the oil every 3k/six months anyway, aswell as the change as part of the service.

Think i'll stick to what it says in the book, suppose it will look better when i come to sell it.

Thanks for the replies  :)
