Welcome :)
I would suggest that normally that sort of money would buy a decent prefacelift CDX if you're prepared to wait, but sounds like time isn't on your side. Congrats with new addition :y |

Thanks for the welcome.... I have seem one on e-gay...If I pay £75 over the asked price they'll do serivce including belts, pulleys, plugs, filters and oil change.....P plate with 99000 miles This is the best looking deal at the mo |

Leave it. Something not right. Its a little dear, and its certainly clocked, even by sellers own admission (last service nearly 18 months ago, but only done 4k since :-?) |

I understand what you're saying but car that I have on e-bay at the mo has only done 3900 miles since April 2005... I did have a company car and still have my motorbike so hardly got used

Current DoT stats show 1 in 4 cars have inaccurate mileage. One of Omega's strengths is the way it easily eats up miles, and rarely shows the wear that those miles normally would. Add in how easy it is to remove dash (5 mins, and all screws hidden), it makes them a prime candidate for clocking. My personal view is Police sold car at 66k, I wonder how many owners since then? Also, Omegas tend not to be the sort of cars that sit on driveway unused, or just used to potter around town. I suspect the previos MOTs (which may give clues to mileage) may be missing.... By all means check it out, but ring previous owner and ask about mileage before buying. HTH |

Added to that, it is overpriced for a base spec car (many ex-plod MV6s are low spec, including this one)

I've asked for all MOT's to be e-mailed to me. No MOTS, then as you have said, walk away

Howdoo, Andy. Congrats on the new arrival and welcome to what is the best source of 'Meega info available, virtually real time, on t'interweb!!
The car on e-bay. Like others have said, something does not add up to me. The car is being advertised as a Police spec MV6. The miles seem a bit off, to me. Contact West Mercia HQ, asking for the garage/fleet manager, and ask nice for a run down of the car over the 'phone. Explain why you are asking and theres a good chance that you will get an honest answer. It has the manual heater controls - OK so far. No rear spoiler - still OK No sunroof - still OK!! Alloys - If it is the real deal Police MV6, then its got alloys that are non standard for a cop car. The real ones are steels and hubcaps!! :-/ Speedo - as far as I can see, does not have the IRS calibration sticker. Ask for a close up piccy. If its got 5 mph increments and no sticker, then its either not as advertised or its got a replacement speedohead. I would suspect the latter!! As always, Caveat Emptor, and only spend what you can afford to loose. Broocie |

Good spot on the speedo but if a CID car then it wont have one ( I served 10 years in the filth)
On the other hand your typical CID wont be running around in a V6 motor. Possible a surviellance car hence the dark colour? ? ? ? As it is I'm desperatley trying to contact a guy on the 'other' vauxhall forum who has a nice 2.5 cd for sale. |

I would be thinking more SB than CID, poss even F/A as West Mercia is a national training centre for F/A. Ask for piccies of where the gun safe mounts were in the boot or under the rear armrest. Speedo - If supplied as Police MV6, then would suggest that its got all associated bells and whistles or not. I know that our SB cars were Police spec 2.5 GLS's but still had the cally speedo.
