Title: Yet another newbie. Post by big_fra on 03. Nov 2006 at 23:23
Greetings you vaux folks.
I hope some of you guys can shed some light onto my recent and favourite purchase. I am now the (kind of) proud owner of a 97/98 R-reg Omega Reflection in metallic purple. 92k on the clock with a lovely smooth v6 engine and manual box. New brakes, tyres and exhaust. MOT until January, and in really good condition. £400 notes. Sound good? I have been after an omega for some time, and this one just stands out from the rest. I have a few questions in the technical area if anyone if feeling up to answering them for me. ;) Cheers muchly, Fra |

Howdoo fra. Welcome to the site!! Sounds like you got a good wee deal on the 'Meega.
In case no one has mentioned it yet, mind the 40k miles/4 years change of belt and tensioners. If you have no documented proof of a change (and contact the servicing garage to confirm if possible) then please do it as soon as poss. If you don't and the tensioners fail (and it will) then you end up with an illicit co-joining of valve and piston (known as a brush and shovel repair) which will need loads of 'bru bottles to fix - replacement engine time! Have a rake around. Theres a good DVD available from Robin Hood at 3 quid which explains how/where etc. Oh. glad to have another Jock on the block. Not enough of us here ;D |
