Title: Hello everyone Post by paolo on 30. Dec 2006 at 03:16
I am Paul, and I found this forum last night, and it saved my life. Most forums have all areas of interest locked, and this was open and gave me loads of info to purchase my first ever Omega.
i think I have paid a little over the odds for it, but it is a fully documented 31000 miles, and I just couldn't resist. It is a 3.0 Elite, so i will slide about on the leather and play with all the toys. It is a '97 'P' registration, and I think it may be the last of the originals, as opposed to the mini facelift. i hope I am wrong, as the mini facelift sounds good with Bose and Xenons..but I think it is the old model. The colour is a metallic red/burgandy (I like black or silver) and the leather is black. I am picking it up soon, so will post some photos and info regarding the spec. I cannot find info as to what is standard on the Elite, but I guess the list is comprehensive. The insurance costs are a bit silly...best i have is £500 fully comp, 300 excess, 10000 mile pa, and I am 34 (just), with 3 points for an MW10 and 8 years protected ncb. Any hints for cheaper insurance greatly appreciated. I think mid range and top end for the 3.00 are fine, but mine is an auto and I read that 0-60 took nine seconds. Are there any cheap ways of speeding this up safely? I would like to change the cam belt and tensioners, just to be safe. i am in Holmfirth, west yorkshire if any members know of a nice garage man up here. Are there any things I should check specifically? My long term aim is an lpg, but the cheapest I have found is £1500.....frightening! I work here...www.ezplates.co.uk so if anyone wants a discount, please email me. Nice to be here, happy new year paul |

Welcome Paul. I'm just down the road from you in Wakefield. If you search the forum you will find answers to most of your questions. When you are ready to have your cambelt done, PM me and I will point you in the direction of the garage I use, or, if you feel confident about doing it yourself, I will show you where to get a DVD made by a member of the forum, which explains it step by step.
Welcome again :y |
