Hello everyone good to see theres a strong fan base for these cars.Ive just purchased a MV6 manual with 99k and its quiet a machine. The handling is a bit bouncy but i have just come from a xsara vts which was like a go cartso it might feel more expresive. Can you recomend some springs or suspension kits to tighten it up or am i just waisting my time?.Cheers

Welcome to site :) You techie Q's are best asked in Omega help section for best exposure. My own views is that being rwd, it doesn't have to be so firm as 'sporty' fwd cars (rwd suffer less traction issues). Additionally, the dual rate springs make it seem soft until you have a little roll on it, when it stiffens up. Presumably the shocks are OK? |

hi and welcome !!
check the rear shocks - as the ride on my old omega was definitely suspect ... that had done just over 100k too ... push down firmly on the rear quarter panel and hold it down, when let go it should go up to its' normal position and then stop. On my old one it did that, then up and down again, then the whole of the car wiggled (for lack of a better phrase !!!), my current elite definitely does NOT do that, it returns to the normal position and stops dead ... |

Welcome, I'm quite new to this site myself. Real glad I found it 'cos I've had a steering problem and have been given loads of advice.
As for tightening up the handling, I have a 2.5td tho' not exactly a performance car, 160k on the clock, I felt the handling was a little tired and "boatish". I fitted shorter springs to lower it by 40mm, new shox all round and a set of alloys shod with 235/45-15. A Camber kit will also be req'd and a geometric set up. This tightened it up nicely without the ride being harsh. Dunno if you'll need to do all that tho', the MV6 may just need new shox, maybe slightly uprated to firm things a little. |

Howdoo, Ohmegod, welcome to the forum.
I changed the front and rear shocks on my MV6 not long after getting the car. Was worth it for the better ride. Hope you get yours sorted out. B |
