Title: another Newbie, nice to meet you all
Post by tony d on 23. Apr 2007 at 19:06
Just purchased my first Omega,a 2001 2.2 litre CD auto, and I love it.
I wanted a good towcar and on paper this fits the bill, however it appears to be running quite hot when towing my caravan, temperature goes up to 90 to 100 and if i slow down in traffic the needle touches the red and the temperature light comes on for about 15 seconds before going back down to 80 /85 .
I have changed the thermostat, flushed the radiator and changed the antifreeze, changed the fan sensor.
and added new engine oil and filter. I am not losing any coolant.
Is this the normal running temperature or should i be concerned?
Looking forward to hearing from any of you experts out there.

Hello Tony and welcome to the forum.  I have no such issues when towing my caravan but although its 15" long it only weighs 850kg, perhaps the van is a bit heavy?

Hi Tony and welcome.
I'm new here myself but thought i would just try and help regarding your question, you did'nt mention if you had changed the expansion tank cap, if not this would be the first port of call as from previous experiance this has cured the same problem on one of my cars. Hope this helps and good luck.  :y
