Title: LPG conversion
Post by Arpy on 26. Jun 2007 at 21:43
Hi everyone
I am a virgin Omega owner so please be gentle with me.
I did want a volvo and at first thought I would regret this mad impulse but even though I have only had olga a week I am starting to fall in love with her.
I drive for a living and this car is the best I have driven.
I will be having a tow bar fitted thurs because I have a caravan and this is the only thing that is a concern will she be up to the job.
Olga is a 2002 2.2 cdx estate and has to carry me the wife 3kids and a dog plus caravan.
hope someone out there can reassure me she wont let me down.
On another subject due to me driving all over the place I want to have her converted to LPG and hopefully local (preston Lancs) but there seem to be so many differant types of system and each guy I talk to says theres is best I thought I would ask you chaps as some of you may have had theres done.
hope to hear from you soon
regards
Arpy

welcome to the forum, olga seems more of a volvo type name than an omega type name :D only my opinion tho :y

as far as towing a caravan, i wouldnt know.. and as far as LPG, a sale's a sale so everyone who sells them will tell you theirs is best, some LPG users should be along soon with help on that subject, i'll be looking into LPG when I upgrade my car next year

might get a better response posting your LPG and caravan queries in the general help section

Dont go changing the car's name just because of something I said! you may have your own sentimental reasons for calling her Olga :)

Welcome to the forum, i have had a lot of Volvo's and can assure you that the Omega is more than a match in many cases a lot better.

A lot lighter on the pocket as well. :y

Whatever kit you get you want a sequential gas injection, they all have one issue or another - but most use the same electronics.

Might be worth DIYing with a kit of Ebay, it is not overly difficult and saves about £1000.

Hi Arpy and welcome.  I tow a 850kg (unladen) caravan with my 2.2 and get about 23 mpg.  Needs a gear change on big hills but no stability worries.  ;)
