Eh? :-/ What do you mean? Do you mean that the small black breather hose that comes out of your Cam Cover is just dangling? Or do you mean something else? |

After I cleaned the IACV on my Omega it blew smoke out, it cleared after 3 to 4 miles. Not clear on the pipe you mention where is it connected to?

The IACV bolts on to what is known as the throttle body. 2 very thin black vac pipes come horizontally into the throttle body from the rear. One of these is the fuel tank vent system, the other is the EGR pipe. 1 very thin white vac pipe comes horizontally into the throttle body from the front. This is the vacuum pipe to fuel pressure regulating valve. Do you mean 1 of these 3? The only other pipe is the small black hose that comes out of your Cam Cover, the one I said to test for a suction at when the engine is running, that curls down between the throttle body and the engine, and connects to a Jet that goes horizontally into the inlet manifold just below the throttle body. Do you mean this one? |

yes when i took off the manifold i saw a black pipe come up from below the engine at the back, dos the vent pipe from the throtle body conect into this 1 or do they both just vent under the body separately
thank you for all you are help i really do |

Hi Antbann, I'm not being awkward here, :) , but I'm having a little
trouble understanding where you mean. First off, there are no vents here and everything should be connected. Secondly, I doubt very much that you removed your inlet manifold, and you mean that you removed the big black plastic trunking that connects from your big black air filter box at the front of the engine to the top of the throttle body to give you access to your IACV. Please correct me if I'm wrong. When you say: i saw a black pipe come up from below the engine at the back, Do you mean you saw a hose, the same size as the one from your Cam Cover, coming back up between the Throttle Body and the engine, and that the black hose from your Cam Cover is also in the same area but not connected to anything? If you follow the hose down that is marked with the red arrow in this picture, where does it go to? Is it connected to anything at the other end? Is it in this area that you seem to have a second black hose that is not connected? Is it the same hose, but has been cut in half? |

On the manefold when you take it off, you will see a 1/4" bor pipe under it about 5cm long does that go anywhere becaus i never took it out of anywhere but when i put it back i found another hose at the back of the engine might go down to the gear box or some thing, but the 1/4" bor goes in it with ease just woundering if this pipe goes in the other pipe at the back of the engine. Or does the smallpipe just dangle in mid air under th manifold. sorry for the missunderstanding im not a tech mecanic wise im a frige guy who oes air con and stuff

In the interest of safety, you are going to have to post a picture.
There is a breather hose that comes up to the back of the engine from the gearbox. This is a gearbox vent, and nobody in their right mind is going to risk telling you to connect the gearbox vent pipe to your inlet manifold and subject your gearbox to engine vacuum pressure. :o I still do not believe that you removed your Inlet Manifold. This would mean that you disconnected your Aux Belt, removed the injector wiring and a host of other stuff. That means we're talking at cross purposes. Take a picture, load it on to Photo Bucket and link to here, or e-mail to a Moderator and ask him to post it for you. You obviously have a pipe disconnected that shouldn't be, but until we know exactly which one, it really isn't safe to guess and tell you to reconnect it. |

If I'm looking at that picture correctly, that is the top vac pipe of the
2 vac pipes that connect to the rear of the throttle body. Is that correct? If so, then that is the fuel tank vent pipe, (evaporative emission control), and yes, it should be connected. |

If you follow the smallest pipe back, it should go to a small unit
with an electrical connection on it mounted just behind your cylinder head. Another pipe, the same size, will also come out of that unit and track down towards the rear of your wheel arch and disappear inside the wheel arch and out of your engine bay area. The small white pipe that you are holding with your left hand, is the EGR pipe, (exhaust gas recirculation), that plugs into your throttle body, and the other end tracks back around to other side of your cylinder head where it connects to a large valve which is your EGR valve. Is all the above correct? |

thank you for that its done thanks alot
Glad I could help you. :) As you see, a picture paints a thousand words. ;) That pipe being off, meant that every time you opened your throttle, that you were pumping fuel fumes into your engine bay. You'll be a lot safer now! :) |

Yes that's correct. You might want to push it in a bit more as it looks like it's going to pop out with all the vibrations of the engine. Best to be safe than sorry. :y |
