Buy a crank sensor and leave it in the car for WHEN the current one breaks

I would add three more items from experience.
1. Check that the brake fluid is changed as per the service interval. It is a cheap procedure but can lead to costly failure of the ABS ECU. 2. Make sure the fuel filter is also changed as per service interval. 3. Watch out for front doors "cracking" as you open them. the fix is fairly easy and is detailed on this forum in the excellent how to sections. Ignore it and it can be expensive to fix. For years I just paid a dealer to do very regular minor and major services and neither of the first two ever seemed to have got done. olive |

I hope you meant MAXIMUM of 4 years/40k :y I wouldn't worry much about the red coolant, factory fill is the blue stuff, and unless you can be sure of getting all the old stuff out (easier said than done on the V6) it's better to stick with blue and change it maximum of 2 year intervals. As long as the coolant looks reasonably clean and is the correct mixture (i.e. not topped up with just water). |

Nope - reword - evidence of being done maximum 4 years ago or 40k......if this is the case, or its been done any further back then it needs doing. Red coolant - as its a fairly recent post 2001 thing will ensure the coolant has at least been changed for long life...it also has better additives and protection. Blue needs flushed every 2 years still compared to the reds 5 year flush |
