has anyone had this occur before my 2.5 cdx overheats while on a long run but not around town or if left idling for ages no signs of leaks or water loss.

Any ideas welcome

Blocked radiator?

Give the system a damn good flush, and use some Forte rad flush as well, then try it ;)
