Title: Hello
Post by eclipse on 08. Nov 2007 at 20:06
Hi
My wife has had a 2.2 estate for 3 years which she loves. Trouble is that she hasn't looked after it too well. So we are now looking for another car, and after looking at lots of other cars, we keep coming back to another Omega. I have test driven a 2.6 saloon, but was put off after I got a price of around £1700 for a complete exhaust! I have tried several places, but they all say I would have to buy a genuine part. I have had this same problem with our 2.2 estate. Does anyone know where I could source a cheap(er) exhaust if I bought a 2.6? Would an exhaust from a 2.5 fit?
Thanks
Sean

Hello & Welcome  :y

Plenty of info to be gleaned in the other sections

like getting a trade club card, will save a fortune on parts  :y

as youve had the existing car 3 years you KNOW what is wrong with it, buy another and that can take some fixing too

What is wrong with the old one?

The exhausts are not interchangable, although there are some shared bits iirc

Hi
The Mrs has knocked every corner of the motor in car park bumps, one of the girls ripped the passenger sun visor off, the CD player has packed up (as have most of the speakers), one of the rear window lifters has broken, and the car needs to be caned to get it over 85mph. We still love the car though - it is quiet, comfortable, and drives better than a mondeo with less the half of our cars 110,000 miles. This is why we want another.

Hi Sean and welcome.

If you want to get it to shift a bit faster and run better have a look at the Maintenance Guide for cleaning the breathers on a 2.2.  Easy and cheap fix and will make the world of difference. :y
