"Hello" and welcome  :)

Why spoil a brilliant machine with the added weight of archaic levers and clutches in order to change gear .. ? when a smooth, powerful and progressive system already exists  .. join the modern world   :)

Better than you ever thought... and if you want to rag a V6 auto ... select 2nd gear and sports mode ...  but strap in firmly and watch out for Mr Plod ( and don't look at instant fuel consumption  :( )  ... you'll hit illegal speeds far faster than you think !!

I tow a fairly heavy caravan and have surpised many an idiot when I kick down a couple of gears and accelerate UP a hill at 50 with the van on ... :)

WOW does sound top notch MMMMM got me thinking hard now LOL,       although i have out grown my rag driving style ( well nearly LOL ) can the auto take stick like a manual ?? need any TLC ?? i have just read the post on the auto in another section it does sound very impressive.!!!!!

What does sport mode intale do you need it on all the time ??

IMHO auto's take "stick" better than manuals ... no clutch to slip/burnout ... no chance of "missing" a gear and over revving to the point of damage ... you can choose how many gears you "have" ( select 2nd and the box only uses first and second) so you are more often in the power band ... you can keep both hands on the steering whilst ragging and let the box lok after itself.... etc etc etc.

The sports mode is truly impressive when ragging ... and when SWMBO is on board .. auto + cruise control just becomes pure leisure and pleasure.

Hi Brett and welcome to the forum. I drive a manual myself (2.6 CD 2002) You can do some nice power slides (only before a tyre change of coarse) But i do miss my 2.5 auto when i'm stuck in traffic.

Mark

Hi Brett

Mark DTM in Nottingham and TheBoy in Brackley do it but in not to sure how much they charge. You can also get it done at a Vauxhall Dealer but the arn't as competent and it will cost you alot more ;)
