My power steering pump has gone noisy (bearing noise)
Would this be ok to drive for now until I can get one? Is it a ball ache to change? Are there different types? |

It is quite noisy but only just started.
When i rang parts place they needed a number off the pump to match it up. Said there are about 4 different ones? |

To get by, spray WD40 at pump shaft seal, through the holes in the pulley or from the back of the pump.

My pump went without the warning yours has given you, change it, if it goes on your trip you will have BIG problems, steering is VERY hard. Cost of pump about £105 plus fitting.

You should be able to find a used pump, if it's similar to our 98 2.5 it's not hard to change.
Some used pumps have the the inlet stub at the wrong angle, you can realign the stub after heating to soften the locking compound. |
