Title: Aussie student assesses termite botty burps
Post by Nickbat on 26. May 2009 at 00:20
A CSIRO project in the Top End of the Northern Territory is measuring methane emissions from mound-building termites.

University of Melbourne Phd student Hizbullah Jamali says early results show termites emit very little when compared to animals like cows.

The Australian Government's effort to comprehensively account for all greenhouse gas emissions has now turned its attention to the tiniest of creatures - termites

While this appears to be a bit of nonsense on first reading it does show the possibilities for chaos and sheer stupidity when lawmakers embark on such a course. :D :D

This is the natural consequence of the 'green' debate and its ill-considered and premature conclusions being taken as the the word from on high ;)

It's about time lawmakers got real and started looking at the problem with a degree of good sense.   Why don't they just instruct  people over certain age to stop breathing - that would solve several problems at a stroke  ;) ;):y :y
