Just about to start on ch4, live brain surgery, and apparently the patient is conscious throughout. :o I`m just off to get me popcorn :y :y Gets my vote over Simon Cowell`s bucket`o bollox any day! ;D ;D

missed the start of this prog,why is the guy awake? bugger that,couldnt and wouldnt want to be awake for any kind of surgery let alone brain surgery!!! :o :o

Patient is awake so the surgeon can see if he's damaging anything and to check which areas are being stimulated.

You have no feelings in the brain, so all can be done under local anaesthetic. I still wouldn't fancy it myself. Imagine the noise as they saw through your skull :D :D

This thread reminds me of when Hannibal Lector cuts the top of that guys head off & then fries his brains next to him at the a table & the guy asks "what's for dinner?" ;D ;D
