Title: BGT tears... Post by webby23 on 29. May 2009 at 21:02
Anyone just see that girl forget the words and then break down???
Interestingly she was patting her mum on the back and telling her mum she was doing her best..... Parents pushing a little too hard it would appear in this case >:( |

Not sure it's a case of the parents pushing -- she genuinely seemed to want to try again.

Have to agree with you on that ,many years ago when i played ice hockey we had a very talented 16 year old player who was pushed and pushed by his father ,he came up up to one of my friends and asked him to break his arm so he wouldnt have to play in a game :o :oMy friend declined to do it , but was quite shocked at being asked to do it .Sad really isnt it |

Well, watching the incident live last night I was surprised that the girls first reaction when her mum came on stage was to put her arms around her mum and reassure her that she had done her best.
It looked like the girl was really worried what her mum was going to say, and that reflects the pushy parents she obviously has. How much of this is the kid and how much of it is the parents pushing.......??? I dont think its a set-up at all, there was a few instances before the breakdown when she missed a few words and it all looked totally natural to me. I also think it was totally unfair to give her a second chance, I bet ALL the contestants would give their right nut (girls excepted!!) for a second chance so to me that was wrong to let her try again. Total shambles. :y |
