Its the last day of the month and I have finally fixed Syd, after going back and reading everything that you all have posted me in the last month,  I have fiddled with everything under the bonnet, had filters on and off, fuel pump thing in the rear in and out, more diesel magic than you can imagine and gone through a box of 100, gloves, 3 jumpers & 1 coat, but Ive done it ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
did I mention I've fixed SYD :D :D :D :D :D :D
can you tell Im pleased :y
So the petrol estate can now go and I will be staying with oof to learn lots more about my tractor :y Thanks guys for all your help and saving Syd from the scrappy :-*

To be honest Im not sure what sorted it, but think the second new battery helped, have done 2 oil changes on top of the glow plugs and other filters, think it just needed a good going over and lots of blasts down the A1m :D :D :D I did buy a hot fix kit but didnt need it after all.
As for my white bits I have been slowly blending them in ;) but with lots of sun tan lotion on, so not sure they will do the job on your neighbour Nick ::)
If Pete's lucky I'm going to fiddle with him next week ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

when we had a bit of trouble here we had to get the police out
and ann being ann said to the 1 copper "you can arrest me as long as i can keep the hand cuffs" ;D

Whoohoo....don't even think about it. Just chip it  :y

I chipped mine last month and got much better fuel consumption and mucho more Oomph, and that's with an existing suspected injector pump issue, which will probably be confirmed in a full diagnostic on Wednesday.

Seriously, if it's now running right and it's a manual...just do it !!  :y

While in my experience the mpg is considerably better, calculate manually, as the chip causes the MID to be over optimistic

you had a lot of problems to work out , but you stuck with it and got there, lots of diesel magic it may be but it all helped to sort the problems , sincerely hope Syd now rewards you with many miles of economical motoring!!
get it chipped as said and you will enjoy the car a lot more than you do presently!!

Good stuff Ali, glad to hear it's fixed! (What did I say to you regarding the battery?)

The next 'must do' is to get it chipped.
'PM' TheBoy or Omegatoy in the first instance. Cost is around 70 quid - whoohoo!
