Title: Tricks to improve car before selling?
Post by Witorwitor on 01. Jun 2009 at 01:07
I was looking at one nice LPG converted omega on ebay which was almost exactly as I wanted. I checked feedback and I found that seller bought some interesting items recently...

Set 6 Genuine LPG/CNG/Autogas/Petrol Silver Spark Plugs - week before auction

Nitrox Ceramic 7 Engine Oil Additive Audi,Bmw,Mercedes - month before auction

Does it mean that he was trying to temporary improve performance (especially oil additive) for potential viewers and I should forget about this car, or maybe I should be happy that he was looking after his car... ?

By the way... is oil additive like this recommended at all?

Well, at least you know the spark plugs are new.
As for the oil additive, if there is a problem, I doubt very much that is going to hide it.

I have spoken to the seller and he said it was for this car. The other thing is number of previous owners, 2000 reg and 5 owners... doesn't it look suspicious?

A little poetic rhyme and advice here:

It's your choice at the end of the day.
Any doubts, then simply walk away!

Good luck whatever mate!

But is it actually possible to be sure that the car you are viewing is "the one"?
I wonder if we have any members who went for viewing, test drove the car, checked the price and said "I am sure that this is the car that I want" paid and drove away...

I'm sure there have been many Witor, but it doesn't necessarily have to be the first car they looked at ;)

I am also sure that not an unconsiderable number of people would have been much better off had they walked away, researched what was available, narrowed any potential choice into a manageable number, so leaving them with a greater chance of finding the most suitable car  :y :y
