The same thing happened to a mate of mine about 20 years ago and the funny thing is, it was also Lookers involved. He bought a Renault Van off them and had nothing but trouble which was costing him money because he needed the van for work so he did the samething and it made the local papers. Allegedly Lookers paid two henchmen to have a word with him ::)

I saw pictures years ago where some bloke in USA had bought a diesel something-or-other and had nothing but trouble with it & the dealer couldn't fix it. So he arranged for it to be suspended from a huge great crane at a major 'intersection' for the early moring rush hour with a similar message on it. The manufacture very quicky got involved and they all came to a mutual arrangement. :y

On that Range Rover model you would expect perfection, so full marks to that guy for taking direct action! 8-) 8-) 8-)
I am surprised as well that Land Rover have not stepped in and resolved the issue. ::) ::) |

Thing is, the 'multiple' failed parts, are they down to manufacturing issues or the garage who fitted them?
Bit unfair to blame the |

Nephew has a V8 Diesel Range Rover, 2005 vintage, its had 2 front diffs, a gearbox, rear drive shafts, alternator, transmission oil leak and a turbo fixed, all under warranty. When the warranty was about to expire they wrote to him and asked if he wanted to extend it by 12 months for £400. Guess what, he took their hands off. Can't afford to sell it, its not worth what he owes on it, catch 22. It would be cheaper to run a yacht or a F1 car than this thing. In fairness to RRover they have done all of the work without question.

i was talking to the landrover dealer, and aparantly he has never had any work done at lookers colchester, his local branch of lookers closed down, so he came to his nearest branch of lookers colchester. i think at some point they will address this issue... bloody embarasing for them, for some one wanting to buy a range rover, it would put me off.. ;D |

And I still find a phrase containing both "Range Rover" and "Sport" ironic, especially now fox hunting is banned. ;D
It's a bit like "Gordon Brown" and "promising". Kevin |
