I think they will have got completely slaughtered at the polls today, and if I was a betting man I wouldnt put money on gormless being in his job at the end of the month. :)
wouldnt be surprised if the Tories dont do as well as they thought they would either. |

As a student of Politics these are very exciting times, with the 'games' of politicians being played outin front of us in rapid succession. 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-)
I understand now that Purnell has requested in his resignation letter to Brown that he should step down as Prime Minister! :y :y :y |

I would say maybe one other in the near future but as being reported on Sky News at the moment, Purnell has also called for the Prime Minister to stand down. A bold move indeed |

There's a rumour going round that Alan Sugar is joining the cabinet: :o
"19:49: The gossip is that Sir Alan Sugar's visit to Number 10 was not a courtesy call. It is suggested that he has been offered a role in the Cabinet and has accepted. This seems far fetched, but the source is good enough to make it worth recording at least......." http://timesonline.typepad.com/comment/2009/06/will-brown-go-a-rolling-guide-to-news-and-insider-gossip.html Surely not? Who voted for him? Then again, who voted for GB to be PM? :( Must be a wind-up. :P |

Sugar gets peerage.
So now we are to be ruled by Lord Sugar and Lord Mandelson, neither of whom we elected. Democracy in action! >:( http://www.guardian.co.uk/politics/2009/jun/05/alan-sugar-gordon-brown-reshuffle |

GB more concerned about clinging to power than the state of the country, methinks. >:( >:( >:( >:( |

Youthinks correctly Nick. :y Concerning 'Sir' Sugar, what will people not do for a peerage? This notion that honours signify a recognition of true worth is patent nonesence when one considers the caliber of the canditates put forward - especially the latest one ;) |

Breaking: Caroline Flint resigns. :o
In addition to existing Business Secretary, Lord Never heard of such a post. ::) |

Title: Re: Purnell resigns Post by Kevin Wood on 05. Jun 2009 at 17:11
It'd be amusing if it wasn't such a travesty. Anyone else want a peerage? Just kiss Brown's butt and you're in.
Would the last one out please turn off the lights? ::) .. although, as nobody has got round to making any decisions on energy policy (or anything else that matters) lately, I guess they won't have to bother. ;D Kevin |

It would be Nick it it wasn't so serious. It's beyond reason now and as I'm listening to Broon's news conference on Sky at the moment, I have no inclination of altering that view. ;) The Prime Minister seems to be in denial and unaware that the game now seems to be up, this is a bloody disgrace :D |
|
Title: Re: Purnell resigns Post by Albs on 05. Jun 2009 at 17:28
As Richard Littlejohn often says when speaking of this government,"you couldnt make it up". ::)
If Brown was still connected to reality in any way rather living on the planet which is his enormous ego,he would have done the dignified thing by now and stepped down. He probably thinks that he waited for all those years for B.liar to get out of his way,so he isnt going to give it up a minute before he has to. >:( |

Well Labour now only have 4 county council seats in Leicestershire including loosing Coalville to the BNP.
And for the first time I can think of, Nottinghamshire is a hung council! (very strong Labour) |
