ive not used it yet as i dont know anyone with it. is it any good at all??

depends what you want to do, as a VOIP app its a bit crap. But if you want free calls its usefull, install it on your phone and call other Skype users for free.

I used it in the USA/Europe, tapped into a WiFi network, quick text home to say turn on the PC. I call that, free calls home....

i use Skype all the time have got most of my friends and family in the UK on so can talk for free also use Skype credit to call other phones all over the world

The wife can call her friends mobile and spend 20 mins on the phone and it only costs me less than a pound

I have a skype account somewhere, but never use it.  For VoIP, I tend to use a proper/standard VoIP service.

I use skype a lot when the wife is/we are travelling to keep in touch.  Works great :y

i have got a skype account but dont really use it, aint used it in about 7 months and only then used it for 2 days

We use to talk to the lad in Auckland, it's cheaper for him to skype us and the line is not too bad .. a little "lag" but you soon get used to it.

SWTSMBO likes it as she actually gets to see him via web cam rather than just chatting on a land line.. :)

i use skype once or twice a week, works great. :y

That reminds me, I have skype ::) ::) I have used it like msn with the odd member, before I got msn set up. To be honest I use it for sending text messages, as it is cheap than my phone and I hate texting as the buttons are so small, where as typing is easy. I also use the phone side to make calls sometimes, though to land lines, have never made a skype to skype call........ :y

Skype's good. No doubt about it.

If you have 3 mobile, you can use the Skype service. I have called family members in Europe for free from my mobile. :y

See, I use a proper hardware SIP adapter.  So when I go away (UK or otherwise), I can plug a cheap phone into my adapter, which in itself just plugs into any internet connection, and people can still call me local rate using old fashioned phones.  Also means I can receive calls without my 'puter switched on ;)

Used to be one of the very early registered users years ago thanks to a geek I used to work with. I thought it was great.

Haven't used it since moving to Spain (Third World) as have been unable to get broadband. Enquired yesterday about 3G dongles (Orange 3Meg and Vodaphone a claimed 7.2Meg) but concealed in the small print was doesn't support VOIP. Back to the drawing board.

Had skype from day one, never used it, Her in Door's calls her family and Friends in Europe quiet a lot, she use's my mobile to call an International calling card No. 0207 (get free unlimited Landline Calls on the Mob), works out a 30min call to Europe costs about 2.5p off the Card in total.
