I have just moved a file in my computer 479kb...........I moved it to to another folder...........it is now only 467kb..........

WHY?..........Does anybody know............It appears to be complete so why has it's size diminished? :-? :-? :o

Is the folder on a different drive?

if you right click on the file, and select properties...are the exact sizes the same in there, and just the size on disk varies?

Thanks Jimbob............the file is attached to an email and I can't access the properties on it. The file at 467kb has 479,232 bytes....they don't seem to match :y :y

I recall that "kb" isn't strictly defined. On some systems it's 1024b, other times 1000b.

So 479,232 / 1024 = 468. Dunno what happened to the other 1kb though.

in that case it will be basically different ways of reporting the same thing.

The last thing anyone could ever say is that I am tight.

As for getting it out for the ladie's well then all I can say why cant I get rid of them.
