Ditto, apart from the Audi/Chevy + Michael Sheen, total rubbish

Haven't noticed it ever not being, when was it ever a mature factual programme? Its cars(or motors related) on telly. Be happy. ;) |

I thought that was the point of it ..... My wife & I .... Ooooer ;) were watching James May earlier. They were building the biggest Scalextric track on what is left of the Brooklands circuit, Residents - 'driving' an Aston vs The Geeks 'driving' a Merc SLK.... brilliant! Even SWMBO said so ::) :y |

Title: Re: Top Gear Post by cruisetopoland on 22. Nov 2009 at 22:18
Now I have accepted its nothing to do with cars, its just the Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May show I find it more enjoyable!
Some great touches tonight though "like riding the Grand National on a lion" and pressing the speed "retard" button to contact Richard Hammond. It is silly but tonight was, for the most part, excellent. Just don't expect a car show :y |

James May is the best presenter of the three and his current series is superb-especially that Scalextric one-great stuff :y |

I groaned when James May fisrt started on TG ..... I'd seen a little of him on other car based programmes & wasn't too sure. I've not seen all of this series, but what I have seen have been brilliant! :y :y He still needs a hair cut ..... that might be a bit of the kettle & pot though! ;D ;D |

I ignored the first series of him and the wine buff ... Oz Clarke cos I thought it was more $h1te TV. but then I saw the series where they were looking for England's/Britain's best drink. I thoiught it was brilliant. Even Oz was funny. ;) ;) |

Title: Re: Top Gear Post by Elite Pete on 23. Nov 2009 at 09:08
I watched most of the programme on fast forward because it was upto its usual cack standards. Why waste £1000 of licence payers money on building and electric car, put 2 tiny batteries on it and drive it around in day light with the lights on so that it breaks down on a busy street causing a traffic jam, yawn how many times has that happened in the last few series. What would be good viewing is for someone who is stuck in the jam and late for something important to give Clarkson a good old fashioned kicking, that I would pay good money for.
Hmmm, theres my next years request for children in need. My house to see Clarkson beaten, my house and wife if I can do it :) |

must admit you wont impress me with electric cars.
But with the BBC being all above board and legal in everything they do, how the hell was it legal for that heap to be on the road? |

Allegedly re-registering it as a van worked temporarily. As with a lot of current shows, the interest is very peripheral. We were taken through some of the tests that MIRA would expect a car to pass and in a back-handed way were shown that it's not easy to build a decent car these days. Oh!, and that the GWizz is actually thought-out. I must say that gutter language is becoming the main distinguishing feature which I find off-putting. |
