whenever i go in a car park i never park in the outside corner, had no choice today. somebody left, couldnt turn the bend properly so hit my bumper. no cameras or no note on car. not bad but noticeable  >:( >:(

just for that reason now I park behind people and block them.. :(

That's infuriating I know.  It's considered normal to rub adjacent cars when maneuvering.  It saves using up skill.

Run some self-tappers through from the inside for next time.  Then there will be no doubt about who it was!

Good idea. Never try and park in a space that is already being used.

30 seconds? That's a lifetime to most shoppers. There's always a scrum for the closest spaces, even in beautiful weather  ::)

I've seen some absolute beauties, mercs, beamers, alfas etc. shoehorned into the tightest of gaps because the drivers dont want to walk across the car park. I wouldn't be able to shop, I'd constantly be looking to see if my car was ok.

One if not the greatest advantage of my former years as a company car driver was not having to worry about where you parked, who might park next to you, or for that matter, what pub you left it outside overnight :D

Sadly good ol' Gordon took all the fun out of it though.

Our MIG seemed to collect more "car park" scratches than anything else, and in a time period of less than 3 months.

Not one scratch on the Isuzu, and that is since July.....can't think why.

Which reminds me of some years ago when I lived in Hertfordshire, bit snobby in some area's, I ran an ex MOD series 3 Landrover and a new Mini Cooper, no one ever pulled out in front of the Landrover :y

Since having the re-spray done, I don't go shopping late in the day, early or lunchtime during the week, and park in a bay where they're are no other cars :y

like johnny I work in a supermarket, was doing a late shift so moved the mig from the crowded staff allocated area to the emptyish bit in front of the store about 9 pm only to come out at 12 to find a nice deep dent (complete with offenders paint) below the rear o/s light cluster and the chrome bumper trim sprung out. Too deep for one of these mobile dent fixers and no money to take it elsewhere. Im hoping my next door neighbours lad whose an apprentice panel beater can get it out without cracking the paint :(

As many have said i park as far away from the store & across two spaces as possible then walk. STILL got a scrape on my n/s/r bumper that should machine polish out but that's hardly the point.
    What is wrong with some folks driving & conscience? ::) >:(

As in most other aspects of life now G a lot of people have scant regard for anything that falls outside the confines of their immediately personal experience.

It's an indication of just how perilous a state this ‘me, me, me’ society is in. :(

Gutless, spineless, careless, insular, selfish, disinterested and apathetic blanks the lot of them. :y

I was sitting in my old Vectra in a car park a couple of months ago and this woman in a brand new Golf parked next to me and got out with a distinct bang against my door, as clear as day.

I said to her,she just denied it, and then her boyfriend tried to pick a fight with me.  Furthest away space for me now.

oh dear, just been to Morrisons to pick up some things for the better half who's laid up with swine flu when I caught someones car with my towbar :-[ :-[ :-[
Luckily it was just a cracked numberplate and as I was writing a note out with my details the owner appeared. I was so embarrased but she was fine. Fortunately her old man can get these at work so £10 later job done. As the lady said, it wasnt anything major but the main thing was that I didnt just drive off and she probably wouldnt have noticed any damage till much later. It was her daughters first car that she'd only had a few weeks so she'd have been gutted if someone had just banged into it then driven off. Just common courtesy really isnt it? We all of us make mistakes but its about taking accountability for our actions-a social trait this country seems to be losing :(

Totally agreed mate,i always park in the part off the carpark that looks abandened with no other cars ::),to avoid getting those trolley dings off the kids throwing the door open,and no matter what i never leave it on the side of the road.

Sounds like a deserving candidate for a tin of expanding foam up the exhaust.  Works wonders  :y

No, it isn't that. 

It's the challenge of seeing how near you can get.  Same thing at motorway services. 

I always try to get as near as possible to the building, but I really couldn't tell you why.  It's not (as my wife alleged before she stopped speaking to me altogether) because I'm lazy (I am, but that's not it).

As for the damage from other car doors, I've just learned to ignore it.  Honourable battle scars. :)
