Title: question for OOFs dog lovers Post by cam2502 on 07. Dec 2009 at 18:47
im looking after a friends dog for the next week, shes a lovely wee staffy called cassie.
question is, what do you feed your dogs? her owner told me she ate dry food and that was all, but the 2 brands i have tried so far,she doesnt like.......until i make up a gravy and pour it over.long story about why the owner didnt give me food for the dog, she had to go quickly...leaving me to look after said mutt! so anyone got any experience of staffys or any food tips? :y |

For working dogs like staffs you need to check the ingredients of the dry mix. Always always check that the first on the list is meat or meat meal. We have an 19 month old boxer and feed him on Chudleys Working Crunch. This stuff is great, 15kg bag for £11 :y
Mix with cooled boiled water and it gravy's up on it's own. |

The ingredients go down in size order. 4% chicken is very little. The Chudleys ours has is 7% beef and 4% chicken.

If the hounds hungry, it will eat. Give the food bowl a half hour or so then lift it and bin it. Bet the fresh meal of food is inhaled 24 hours later..... ;)

Thirded :y Mine sometimes turns her nose up at her snap, because there's no goodies mixed in. It stays there until she eats it, be it a day or so. Don't pussy foot around with them ;) |

ANY animal will eat WHATEVER it comes across if it's hungry enough.

If it's a gravy mix it's best avoided to much salt is a bad thing as said it's best not to pander to much to her she will eat if she is hungry.if all else fails natural stock i.e chicken will do the trick. It's also advisable not to vary her normal food, and if you have to do it gradually or you may have to clear up the result! :o |

Well we have had 2 staffies now mate, and they eat absolutly anything(well swallow ;D),but you will more than likely find she is not eating due to being in a new enviroment. We had the same trouble when we went on holiday, but dont worry mate they will eat when they are hungry. ;)
