Title: Misted headlight covers? Post by The roadrunner on 11. Dec 2009 at 16:51
A cosmetic query really, the headlight covers on my Elite are misted, if you look closely it's microscopic pitting.
The lights are still uber bright due to the HIDs but it makes the car look older than it's years. ;D Is there anything I can use to rub pitting down or if not are the covers easily/relatively cheeply replaceable? Cheers Jim |

A bit of T-Cut will work wonders, I've used it before and brings the lenses up nicely.

As said .. T-cut .. or liquid Brasso ... or Greygate Plastic Polish ... or even some VERY fine wet & dry followed by Brasso .... that's what I used on the old Omega .... takes time and elbow grease and be VERY careful of the surrounding metal work .. very easy to stray off the glass and damage the paintwork !!!

Halfords do a 1200-grade wet-and-dry for not much dosh. If the pitting doesn't come out with T-cut alone, use some of this first (wet).
Brought ours up nicely with fairly minimal effort. :) |
