So i was driving to work, its covered in snow. decided i would need traction control on so pressed the button and the light comes up on the dash. Anyways it was not at all helpfull and i got stuck several times, didnt get to the motorway and decided to come back. My son seems to think the light on the dash is to say its not on? is this true? so effectively i turned of the device to control a RWD v6 car the only time it might have been helpfull?

button pressed light ON = Traction control DISABLED  (OFF)

The default setting is light OUT Traction control ENABLED (ON)

so .. just when you need it most .. you turned it off ....  :)

Your son is right. It's on all the time and when working it will blink. You will feel it cutting the power of the engine. When the light is on after pressing the button, it means its off (or there is a fault)

which is just what I was doing earlier.At work,no-one else here,circular road about 400 metres long with car parks off to each side.Having childish fun steering it on the throttle and handbrake turns. [smiley=evil.gif] [smiley=evil.gif]

I had to run the sister in law to the shop earlier.... At walking pace turned 160 degrees or so in the entrance of a side road ::) ::)

Mig was well behaved really, same as last year, but I have just filled both fuel tanks which gives a good 100kg or so over the back axle :y :y :y

traction control is ALWAYS on by default

Get some weight in your boot and set tyre pressures to minimum....

had a "nearly" on the way in. Very badly gritted A road leading to a traffic lit round about with a main carriage way through the centre. 25 on approach throttle off well early, lights changed to red braked, abs banging away, lift, brake, lift, brake, cars start to pass in front, lift brake lift brake. No chance, had to turn left and go round the round about and wait at each set of lights or go through the centre through road and hit a car or 2. Still over shot the line by 15ft. Whoops.

The light is there to indicate a fault, or that its switched off  :)

It will flicker when its being used, take the car out now, and boot it in some snow you will see the ABS light flicker as it tries to get traction

got to walk down and get some petrol first, i thought i had enough so didnt bother going in the garage when i passed it, went to start yesterday and conked out as i put it in reverse  ::) ::) ;D ;D

Traction Control? I thought "TC" stood for "Tyre Cost"  :y Whenever the warning light is on and I press the throttle I can hear those rear tyres shaving away the £££s  :)

No ESP though ...Mine went completely sideways....in the snow today.......I think that ESP ...would have caught the slide.... :y :y :y....great fun though.
