Title: massive thankyou
Post by john6177 on 21. Dec 2009 at 15:58
just a quick thread to thank KEVIN WOOD publicly in alton. i have PM'd him but thought other OOF readers should know how excellent the tech 2 service is on here (and cheaper than VX). i wanted cruise control activating  and a software g/b upgrade.THE BOY gave me his details after telling me he was close by in alton hants. i beat a path through the snow today and got the work done. awesome thank you all. well happy with work done. :y :y :y :y :y :y ;D ;D

It was a pleasure. :y

Good job you left when you did! It has dumped down ever since and the A31 is now closed until morning I think. Did a yomp out to the shops and decided size 10 1/2's and a rucksack were a better option than a 3.2 MV6. That was a good call. A few people won't get home tonight. :o

I'd like to thank the Hampshire county council highways dept. for their ineptitude in making these images possible. :D

Nice pictures.  :y

You know what, I'm actually getting quite jealous; missing out on all this snow. Over here you just get the same weather over and over.

Been on the phone to SWMBO earlier and she was giving me reports of all this snow, I'm missing out big time.

Last (and first) time I tried to drive that in the show it was a joke. You had to keep the throttle perfectly balanced in every gear. Just lift off slightly in a high gear and the back end would try to overtake the front and you'd be sitting with an armful of opposite lock on trying to apply just enough throttle to stop it. ;D At least it has relatively little momentum so if you do have to just lock the brakes and hope for the best it does stop before it hits a curb.

600Kg on 205/50/15 A539s isn't a good recipe for snow.

I don't think I even had the LSD on it then. :-X

BTW: the only vehicle in those photos that was capable of movement was the snow plough. And his plough was about 6 inches off the ground! ::)
