HI yes a rear view camera, my man fitted it saying omegas should have come standard with them as there are so many with rear bumper damage, comes up automatically on the dash dvd screen, Kack

first is flip screen dvd, and multi dvd below and flip screen dynamics processor in the air vents, adn then the pic from the rear showing 7 of the 9 screens fitted, playing tv dvd and xbox

indeed... the number of people that have said why do people bother wasting money on modifying cars... but its not different then someone being and over enthusiastic gamer or have a thing for collecting models... all a fairly pricey thing and to someone it will seem pointless and a waste of money.
Your car is exactly how i would want mine to be, tastefully modified... none of this "lets slap the biggest bodykit i can find on it, the biggest exhausts etc etc"
Lowered, exhaust system (nothing OTT) alloys and a nice ICE set up, job done :y

Hi and thanks so much for your nice comments, my man did the audio for me and likes to keep it looking very standard, he says the sound stage in the omega is quite good when compared to some of the cars he has built over the years, and even has tried to keep the rear shelf looking modest even with the large subs showing through now befor you wouldnt have seen anything with the subs in the boot apart from the extra tweeters mounted on the a pillars and on the rear door's, as for the exterior i only ever wanted the irmscher kit and has gone for everything to do with them, kit springs shocks tax disc and mot disc holders key rings etc etc we had even bought irmscher badges to replace the vauxhall badges on the rear and elite on the dorrs but thought it looked so nice just the way it is we left it alone, i am so mad about it i even wanted to remove the badge from the center of the steering wheel for an irmscher logo, my man told me to stop pulling at it incase of detonation,  and the stereo is still to finish off, you can see some images of it on youtube under fintona 09 with the 8 twelve inch subs, was a rush as only finished painting and assembly the night before

no not as yet. i planned to have mine lowered, stainless exhaust system, direct cold feed induction and a few other things but not sure on that at the moment as im debating on getting a new car. I have also started to do a complete LED conversion on all exterior lights. i need to get myself an amp for my 2 12" subs in the boot of mine. i would very much like the full irmscher kit but think its a waste of money for what it really is.

if i change my car i will be looking away from the omega mainly because of insurance... the 2.0 CD i have at the moment just doesn't have enough power for the 2 tonne tank that it is. i have been looking at the Astra 2.2 Bertone Copue but still unsure at the moment

HI all and as for the reg on the car when bought it had a uk w reg and was then re reg'd to the NI IHZ8**7 we then bought the older M reg 888 Plate as it was the vaux 888 number, and the other member is correct as NI is stil part of the UK we can run their plates or our own, as for the Z in the reg most of the new car's now have reg's featuring the Z in them we are now at MHZ*123 which we have on the new MV6 estate for my winter run about, and just as well as i was ploughing the ditches yesterday as i lost it on a bend and did a few turns in it, and missed anything important, just need wheels checked so very lucky, and lucky not Black Beauty

Southern Irish Plates, Ireland,  are made up like 00 DL 1234 which is year 2000 and Donegal and then number, D is Dublin, LH Louth etc etc

HI and thanks for the comments, they are 18 inch alloys and it is lowered with a set of Irmscher shocks and springs, not sure what they are supposed to drop it but it has a lot of stereo weighing in the boot too

Being a fellow Northern Irelander myself, Northern Irland plates are normally a three letter prefix followed by four numbers  eg:  FKZ 1234.  This differs depedning on what council area you live in and is a very complicated system if you ask me!!  Southern Ireland have the best system with the reg year, town letters and then the individual reg no....

Hi if you mean the hand brake handle, on the Elite it is leather covered and so is the Auto gearstick, i love the leather looks so nice and finished off, if you find an Elite and are careful you can take them off sometimes as i got one for my first Omega 2.0 GLS from a Opel Elegance, was hard to remove but worth it

Thanks loads for that titbit of information, Ive always had to slum it on CDXs all these years, so never been aware of such a subtle thing as a leather covered handbrake lever, but now I know it's there i suppose i'm just going to have
to have it!

where did you get the grill and headlights

Hi headlights are standard xenon for the face lift, and the grille is an Irmscher styling item from GM the are the offical company, the front bumper rear bumper and side skirts are also from Irmscher =, but the boot spoiler is the Elite model from Pro Drive, hope this helps

i don;t get the point of a massively inaccurate system in a hugely non linear acoustic environment.

succeeding only in damaging your hearing....  and annoying the hell out of the neighbours.

why? i compete in the national sound of competitions also i like my music alot and loud i have no interest in going fast in my opinion theres no point be cause the roads are to controlled now and its highly iresponsable unless its in a controlled enviroment like a track day

if i was after a linear sound i wouldnt be using a car im Not after  SQ im a responcble person i use my system any where near my house to annoy the neighbours you never pee on your own door step

ok gentlemen really.......for starters to many big words for me and anyway when you mod a car its to make it different some like sound and some like speed ,me i like both but have none i bought a 97 v6 3 weeks ago and dun the head gasket and in temper put my fist through the radio so there you go. now i just have the company van with the bhp of a wheelbarrow and the speakers from an old walkman.

Hi and it is good to see everyone getting there opinion across on the audio side of things, as for the sound in the omega i like my bass but it can still do sound quality when required as my man likes his sound nice, he used stuff like dire straits to set the tweeters where they sounded best, and runs genisis amplification in his own car the 607 , which by the way i am driving after i spun the MV6 Estate in the ice and snow was lucky and got away with needing to balance the wheels just, as for listening to audio in the cars and they are not a perfect place then a house is not much better as your speakers are usually in corners tucked out of the way unless you can afford a private listening room, but as the last man said being bankrupt would be worse than a compromise and that seems to be the way of it now, but for going to any car show people are shallow and are impressed easily with flashing lights and loud bass, hence the stereo and tv screens in the rear head rests,  ;D

A car is probably about as far from perfect place for sound as you can get.  That said, most of us spend a lot of time in one, so makes sense to get the audio as near to our liking as we can :y :y

I'm too old and too tone deaf to go to the lengths you have mind, maybe in my younger days ;D.  My preference now is to try to keep it unnoticible - been through all the hassle of broken windows due to some scrote liking the look of my ICE.

Each to their own - be far too boring if we were all the same.  I admire the time, dedication and love you (or more likely your old man ;D) has put into the car, even if the end result (audio side) is probably wasted on me :y :y

It may be worth your while popping over into the Electrical and ICE section - we have a member who is regularly in that area who specialises in car audio (Dave DND), and has built a few audio show cars.  He may be able to offer advice how to improve it further, or how to get the absolute best from what you have, or simply confirm what you have is just right  :D

Lovely looking motor, like what's done with the audio system, don't see many omegas in Thailand, mainly GLS pre-facelift specs saw 3 so far in the north east, one being an estate.

Have sent you a PM with the links, and yes Kate know's the band very well :y Thai Customs like everything else in Thailand have changed the import exemption for returning nationals eg cars, they are now charging duty, where as a year ago they were'nt.

When are you and the other half next in Thailand :question

Hi thanks for liking the stereo, it is getting a bit cramped in there but we are trying to fit another big sony amp and 3 12 inch subs for out the rear of the boot when opened as i miss the 8 12's i used to run for sub bass, if you check the pic's through the post you will see me holding the amp and rubbing my sub enclosure ;D

Hi i just used the pioneer ipod add on unit through the ip bus control lead connection, hope this helps, kack

Wow, not that's a really nice one! Black omega cars are always the nicest ones, even though I like the ones in a nice dark red colour too. What do you say as a driver, is it as good as it looks like?  Would you recommend buying the same car?

Not a fan of auto,s never been into huge sound systems,
had plenty of modified for performance cars, but that is probably the best modded Omega i have ever seen,
the whole package just fits together  :y, including the extremely
vivacious driver!!

can u get the exhausts to fit an estate - its how they should have been made- nice black mig only ones I ever saw in N.I had blue lights on!!!

Hi here are some pics of my latest mods for the Black Beauty, chrome rings on the dash clocks, Irmscher lock pins, Irmscher steering wheel, second battery in engine bay, painted brake calipers, soundstream power cap, and a new drivers seat as the leather was starting to look a bit tired on the old one, so looking very fresh now

HI total music power is over 3000 watts rms as i am running sony xm2000r, xm2100g x2, xm450g, and should soon have the second xm2000r fitted for the next set of subs for the boot, only problem will be need for cooling fans in there as it is warm when run hard, which is all the time, cheers Kack ;D
