I'm breaking a '99 2.0 auto. Ecu is yours for £40 posted (well packaged!)

Well today i was just about to start stripping the head of on the car when my mate turned with with his mate who works at vauxhall and told me before stripping the engine down to check out the ecu as they are well known to fail and made the sounds what my car is making when running

its hard to tell you.But he said to get another ecu or get my one looked at before taking the engine apart to find out theres nothing wrong with the engine
