Title: My car thinks it's 68 degrees outside! Post by Rockhampton on 18. Feb 2010 at 16:54
Hi all,
Just driving home from work this evening, got the customary flashing waring of 0.5 degrees outside on the mid... however, on the way home, it started reading 68 degrees! Varies up and down a couple of degrees, but of course, the climate control thinks its hot outside, so have to crank that up to keep warm :( Engine temperature is normal, car appears to be running okay. Figure its the outside temperature sensor up the creek - firstly, can anyone tell me where it is on the Omega (and is it easy to change), and secondly, does it sound like the right symptoms, and thirdly, how much should I be paying? Thanks in advance! :y |

very easy to change, open the bonnet, look down, its central on the bumper.
about £6 from vauxhall for a new one. it does affect your climate operation as well. |

Did you have trouble with the connector on yours too under the bumper?? I seem to recall that can cause issues too reading in the past?? |

I've replaced my temp sensor and it still reads either a fault or -30 (which then turns off air con). I've tried cleaning the connection at both ends with no joy, not sure what to try next? |
