Title: Header tank
Post by jonny2112 on 31. Mar 2010 at 19:34
I have a slight coolant leak which I'm hoping to investigate soon, and will also do a coolant change. Thought that would be an opportune time to clean the header tank as it is filthy. Has anyone any recommendations? Or would I be better leaving it alone? Cheers  :y

They never really clean well. A few small pebbles in it, shacking vigourously for a few mins gets the crud out, but it remains stained brown.  Dishwasher doesn't touch them - not that I would know ::) ::)  (ssshhh, dont tell the old bag!)

£24 + VAT trade for new v6 one

Not 100%. I've broken 2 cars now, both petrols and ended up with one of each.
