Title: haynes manuals Post by shaggydog on 31. Mar 2010 at 21:07
Does anyone know why haynes don't publish a workshop manual for 2000/2003 omega?

The book for the earlier models is full of lies already. Although they are pretty much the same (apart from the body styling, dash and drive by wire part) so an earlier book will cover most things mechanical.

To strictly answer your question, I would imagine they don't believe it makes business sense ;) |

I've just bought a s/h one off a member on here for "reference".
Have found it full of inaccuracies in a lot of places (I'm reading it cover to cover like a good novel) not impressed.... Nothing really "wrong" but not quite right on a lot. Will resist commenting further until I'm completely through it. |

Not called the Haynes Book of Bollox for nothing.
Still useful to have, but not at daft £20 retail price. £5 from egay maybe ;) |

Thats where I got mine from and as said by several posters it is not the be all and end all that it pretends to be.The OOF is much better for a more definative answer to nearly everything but there is no harm in having reference material. |

I love Haynes manuals. They have always done for me what they set out to do.... guide me.
They get a new car, strip it and re-build it. Sometimes, the car they get is not what you have, but, generally, it is close enough so you can have a stab at repairing your car for a fraction of the cost of main dealer // independent mechanic. |

When I contacted Haynes to ask the very same question the reply was that as not enough of the Facelift cars were made, they did not do a separate manual. Nor yet are they likely to. Make of that what you will.................... :-? Matthew |
