Title: 04 3.2 Special Estate for sale
Post by karlc on 01. Jul 2010 at 10:57
For sale is my 3.2 special estate manual, due to an unexpected promotion at work my baby has to go - I am now going to have to do a huge mileage and the mig is just not thr right car for the job!
I spent a lot of time looking for a tidy estate and surprisingly this ex Lincs police was one of the cleanest I saw. It has 12 months mot and 5 months tax, it has also just had a new clutch fitted(receipt for work done) old one wasn't slipping but bite was high. It has wood gearlever and stereo surround, a recent cat back exhaust and single electrics towbar. Interior is very clean as is body, interior has 2 screw holes in a pillar boot area has no holes cut and loadspace cover single din stereo fitted.
Mileage is 71,000 which has been checked back to old mot's from 2007 when it had 48,000. I have had a few ex police cars and have always found their transport people helpful but when I rang Lincs Police data protection was thrown at me but I was told that a number of Omegas were retired early in 2007 due to the fleet going diesel and that these Omegas had their maintainance budgets thrown at them with mechanical work being done ahead of scedule just to get rid of them! The firs mot was done in Lincoln.
The roof has been filled and painted and a good job done, There is a few spots of surface rust on tailgate by trim sections - where markings were removed and paint cut, Looking at some photos I dont think this was a battenburg as paint is in too good condition! Went through mot with no advisories and drives well. Please message me if interested I am happy for anyone to come and inspect/drive the car I have nothing to hide, lookinf for about £2,000 but obviously cash is king, I am using the car daily, the spare is a full size alloy with good tyre as not a fan of spacsavers! If anyone can help with uploading of photos please message as we tried a few times! have plenty that can be emailed - I had planned to keep this and gradually upgrade spec but as previosly stated I need something more sensible. I spent time looking for this and was surprised to find a white ex-plod with straight bodywork and tidy interior my mot man asked if it actually saw service as it was so clean! I am assuming belt tensioners etc were changed prior to it being retired so will need doing next year, the underbonnet area is also tidy and majority of extra wiring has been properly removed not butchered! reg no is FX04 FAK in case anyone knows anymore about it! thanks Karl

Hi,

Use photobucket for pictures then use the URL from there pasted into the reply box. Might help if you put your location and when cambelt was changed

Cheers,
Iain

oops thought location was shown1 - I am near Chester believe all belts changed begining 2007 around 40k but that is based on what guy from Lincs police told me might have been done after as bolts have been disturbed!  karl

seeing as a pic paints a thousand words blah blah lol

i know a decent car when i see one and i knew that one wasn't going to be cheap,it caught my eye because it was firstly a 04 on the 04 which is the last i have ever seen them and i always like one of the last of the line as in my head its the best chance to get a good one, also it was a 5 speed manual which is better for towing etc and i noticed it had a decent looking towbar fitted and finally the miles was low infact very low for a ex bizzy jam sandwhich  :D

someone after a decent towcar or properly looked after high performance shooting brake will like this one.

Glwth and before anyone says it i have never met the bloke selling the car and i'm not his manager or svengali etc.
we do both have the same name and come from the same place though .....spooky that lol :P
