Well i picked this up on tuesday nite and thought i would sign up :)

2001 Omega
2.5 v6 CD,
its manual,
ex government car from Scotland,
78k miles,
service history,
met black

Plans are to lower a wee bit, set of elite wheels, tints, got a debadged grill fitted and i have a boot lip spoiler to get painted and fitted.

Welcome to the forum, Nice looking car. Those wheels look good on the car.

Service history. Does it show when the cambelt and tensioner was last changed? 40k miles or 4 years is the interval whichever comes first. Waterpump too probably while you have the front to bits. :y

You may have a problem with the non-official number plates, but everything looks spot on.

ahh thats ok then, with all the funny goings on lately, it wouldnt have been a suprise if someone was pretending to own someone elses car ::) ::)

I do like that colour, but for the sake of a spot fine and getting pulled, Id change those plates. :y

Incorrect font. so are illegal.

Well the first half decent day weather wise so i took the chance to get a coat of polish and some wax on the omega bus :D just some pics of it after :D

oh and its away to get all the windows tinted now so i shall update again 2mro at some stage :D

I have no objections to tinting :y and therfore would warn that you must get them professionally done and legal. :y (Sorry if teaching to suck eggs). Don't remember which one but I saw on one of the fly on wall police slots where they pulled over a driver who had one done but it was illegal and i think got fined or a ticket :-/ (can't sware to that).

Yeah mate you are 100% correct on what your sayin.. but again (same with the plates ) the cops arnt just as harsh over here with them. at the most u will get a £30 fine but 90% of the time they make you take them off...

i know your thinking its a waste of money but i am getting them done by a professional tinter ( a mate of mine ) so im getting it done real cheap :)

oh and has anyone else ever came across an omega being so akward to tint? he said he had 1 himself and he didnt even tint it but doin mine as a favor.

Its a really nice looking machine, Lee - keep it looking that way!

I personally wouldn't put incorrect Elite wheels on it - it looks good on the ones it has.

Well i know i havent been on here in a while and its not really a massive makeover but it changes the look of the car :)

when i bought them

some rubbing down and primer later

i didnt get any of the wheels with paint on them as i was loosing daylight, so here they are on the car and with a good clean aswell :D

Then the next day i had a few of the mates around so i took a few pics

Well still no luck selling the car so this weekend i got Rather bored today and took the lights out and had a go at painting them, iv talked about doin it for ages but could never be botherd lol.
