managed to strip it down clean ,regrease and put it back together the problem i now have is that when i open the door the buzzer sounds which used to happen only if the lights were left on or the key was in the ignition any help would be greatly appreciated

The buzzer will sound if the keys are in the ignition and the door is open, after you switch off.

Thats normal. to stop the buzzer simply take key out of ignition and put it back in then open your door and no buzzer will sound(until you turn ignition on again) :y
