Title: Loose Lamba Sensor. Post by amba on 19. Jan 2011 at 13:33
Just wondering ,other than the eml light coming on/off what would be the other side effects of one of the lambda sensors being loose.
Previous thread I raised the issue of the eml coming on/off and bringing up fault code 89.When I did my 2 monthly oil change this morning,I found to my amazement that the n/s lambda sensor was loose in its housing.I removed sensor and checked thread on both collar and sensor and both were fine.I refitted sensor and tightened it up correctly and it is now secure and solid. My only thought is that it has worked loose, but other than bringing up a fault code what other symptoms would I have experienced as car has been running fine. |

You may well find that your fuel consumption goes down slightly now as the loose lambda would have been pulling air in and telling the ECU to richen up the mixture thinking it was lean.

Thanks Lee.
My thought but just wanted confirmation..trouble is at £1=30 a litre you really need every bit of help you can get,and did seem to be in fuel stations a bit more often than my usual 3 times a week. |
