Title: Brake Light Switch Post by Ploppy on 20. Jan 2011 at 06:00
Tonight parking up noticed my brake lights not working when pressing the brake pedal....
Ok I pull the brake pedal towards me.. and now they work.. I guess the switch is on its way out.... Are they easy to replace? On my 2003 3.2 special omega Thanks Ploppy :D :D |

My advice from fitting a new brake light switch to my 2.5TD ... don't know if applies to other cars
You can only fit a new switch in by: 1. Having the brake pedal pushed down (i.e. you need another person to do this or use a rod) 2. Pulling the switch actuating pin all the way out so you can slide the red locking collar fully out (otherwise the locking tabs can't move inwards as the red collar is in the way). |

Correct, i think this is rather an awkward job, upside down, head holding brake pedal. . . The best thing is if you are replacing the switch for a new one it does not matter if you break the old one ;) which makes life alot easier. . As its so easy to push the new one in when the old is out . . :y |
