Title: Wheel sensor removal - please help
Post by VR4Dave on 20. Jan 2011 at 13:01
Thought I'd remove one for a clean as been having a few problems and I broke it!

how do you take them out? I was working on near side front and took out the allen bolt then tried to gently ease out the sensor with a flat blade but it snapped (ham fisted numpty!) and I now have no abs or TC.

I now need a replacement so if anyone has one for an '03 2.6 please pm me if you would sell it to me.

Thanks
Dave.

Create a wanted add in the test area for a sensor adn we will move it to the for sale section.

As for removal, you might have to pull the front hub off (not to hard although the hub nut is bloody tight) and tap the old sensor out if its snapped off

I've got an ABS sensor here if you still need one.

I always remove them by taking out the allen head bolt, removing the hub and tapping it through from the outside with a short 1/2" round poly bar I obtained years ago. A wooden dowel would work just as well :y

Cheers chaps, should they slide out or is it always the case of having to take off hub and tap them out?
