Title: Wobbly in the wind! Post by Omega 37 on 04. Feb 2011 at 21:34
Driving up the M1 today in the strong wind It was hard to keep the car straight.
Other cars/vans seemed to be going in a straight line, even the KA in front of me. :-/ Do shock absorbers wear & become soft???? because I have done wishbones, droplinks, steering idler, rear springs, a trip to WIM, 4 new tyres & I check the tyre pressures every 2 weeks,,,,,,,,help :D :D :D :D |

well asumming they have not been changed 60k.
wasn't sure if they wore out or just failed by leaking. the car seems to nose dive under gentle braking at high speed aswell!! |

60,000 isn't that much
i'd jack the car up and see if there is a oily mist on any of the shocks do the " bounce " check on all 4 corners it should just return to its level. if it bounces about then it kn*ckerd :( had the same problem on mine last year 120,000 miles anything over 60 and the car felt like it was going to throw its self off the road :( changed the front and rears for some KYB uprated gas shocks :y nice stable ride now :y |

They do move around in the wind ime. Mine was on the m4 on the way home tonight.
And if anyone is interested, that's what it's like driving on Falken tyres (912) from about 7 or 8k miles ware. |

Yes for me too on M4 M5 A30 yesterday it was moving around a bit. I have Falkens on the Signum - which I thought were ok but the rears are going out of shape. Geometry being done at VX on Wednesday. Yes I know I should take it to WIM but there may be a deal to be done at VX since we asked them to check suspension months ago and apparently they did visual only. |

+1 also you will feel that the front looses track on fast curves and the braking distance become longer.. |

Just to update on Signum visit to VX dealer for geometry check: Before: After: They did the work at no cost and offered to do Omega for £50. |
