Title: HID headlight bulbs Post by bobdent on 10. Feb 2011 at 09:38
Anyone know the part No. and best place to get these from.
Last year I had one replaced and it cost a whopping £76.00 inc. fitting! :o I'm sure they must be cheaper online. |

remind me, where did you get the 1 last time?
iirc it was a dealer, so will be 4300k temperature that is 6000, so will be a very different colour to the one you have. The chinese ebay specials like that - I have seen reports of not working at all, working for a short time, taking minutes to come on, flickering, or just causing fires. And if none of those happen....your just left with poorer illumination than the proper lamps. I bought a pair of chinese ones for my old car, and to be honest, they were ok, the old ones illuminated better, but the different colour masked it. in your position, it would be 1 x new lamp from phillips or osram, cheapest online source I can find such as http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Osram-Xenarc-66040-D2S-bulb-bulbs-new-/320650738115?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item4aa845f9c3 http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/OEM-Philips-D2S-85122-HID-35W-Xenon-Bulb-NEW-UK-4300k-/270703445996?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3f072ec7ec I would be tempted to look at the one you replaced, and order the same brand, although I guess you will be getting your garage to fit so may not be an option? |

Just get one of them, cheap enough and are OEM. I got a pair recently for my car, work great. |

My garage got the last one from Europarts and I seem to remember it was 4300K. The dealer on the e-bay link I posted above also do the 4300K at the same price. Made under licence from Philips so they can't be bad can they? :-/ |

Hi Bob Have a pair of them laying around ....no good at all, when i did have them fitted found that most of the time one or the other would not strike up....was a pain >:( >:(. Got a pair of Philips and had not had a problem at all :y :y. The ones on hids4u look good and at a good price for HID think there the Osrams :y |

up to you Bob, but I take that advert with a pinch of salt and wouldnt personally put those lamps in anything.
Given the damage they could do to your car, I wouldnt risk it. If it seems to good to be true....it usually is. |

Fair enough, I'll take the advice from you and SP_3.2 and stick with an original Philips or Osram :y
