How hard is it to remove once the engine is out? any special tools/brute force?

you leave the tc behind on the gearbox when you remove the engine....and it just pulls off :y

ahhh i see your boggle, you need to undo four bolts holding the tc to the flexplate,easily axcessed thro the hole in the lower bellhousing,rotate engine untill each bolt lines up in the hole and remove.

T/C can come out with the engine, but MUST go in separately. |

sorry to slighty hijack, but i just did an engine swap and bolted the tc to the engine before putting the engine back in. is thislikely to cause problems?

There is a danger that you'll damage the bushing and oil seals that support the torque converter nose in the gearbox or, worse still, it won't engage fully with the autobox oil pump and you'll crush the torque converter as you tighten the bell housing bolts. If you assemble the TC to the gearbox you can be sure that it has engaged and slid fully in before offering up the engine. Kevin |

hopefully i'll be ok then, as the car has been driven since and isn't leaking fluid. thanks for the info. hijack over
