Sure I have read something about this, anyway my car had about 2 feet of it hanging out of the exhaust this morning, what does it mean?....... ::) ::) ::)

So, what is needed? new back box? no noise so does this need to be done?

Its the sound absorbing wadding coming out of the back box. It happened to mine about 6 months ago. Must change the back box some time.
You need something like a straightened out coat hanger with a  hook formed on the end to try to pull it all out. It blocked my back box and the car lost most of its grunt for a day or two until I found out what the problem was. :y

Will check it out, just pulled a piece off by hand this morning. Need to have a better look as this could affect or is it effect? performance and mpg, seems like a recent back box though..... :(

That said, this fecking car was supposed to be typical one person owner fully serviced etc and has had everything wrong with it, it's days are increasingly numbered but then you spend money and you have to keep it ::) ::)  Might give it to swmbo and get myself a new Citroen reliable car.... :D :D :D

It's not the cars fault V, it's a shite exhaust. What make is it?

See eternal car on gay bay. £30 odd for a back box..??? In fact on yours you may as well do the cat back system.

Or just pull all the wadding out and play with corsa boys for a while.  ;)

Get it fixed as soon as possible mine did that I run it for a while and just coming off motorway on to ramp to exit it gave big bang and box split.

Yup.  2 year old (well, 2 years past November....) genuine VX replacement.  Guaranteed to go tits up a few weeks out of the warranty period....   ::)

I might be tempted to push the warranty, nout to say it was fitted immediately after purchase?  :-/

Just thought i would add this driving to work on m40 kicked down to change lane and BANG I thought a bomb had gone off in the back of my car. Looked in the mirror and lots of black smoke i got the car onto the off ramp and had a look back box split in 2 and lot of hairy stuff hanging out. Crawled to garage £84. Later got to 3 Hours late not a good day. :'(
