Title: Some Mig bargains about at present. Post by Ken T on 17. Mar 2011 at 22:59
Some of the topics were saying how cheap Migs are at present, I had a quick look, and yes, lots of them.
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2002-VAUXHALL-OMEGA-CD-AUTO-GOLD-/320668056881?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item4aa94e3d31 Lower mileage than mine, just needs a screen (£100) and radiator, for £460, http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2002-VAUXHALL-OMEGA-MV6-AUTO-GREEN-LPG-SPARES-REPAIR-/190512703106?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item2c5b712682 and an LPG MV6 with oil in the water. And you may think JamesMV6 got a bargain on his, but http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2003-VAUXHALL-OMEGA-CDX-AUTO-GREY-/330542593293?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item4cf5dfb50d Here's an '03 in good nick for £895. I've spent more than that in head gaskets and belts kits in the last year !. I wonder if the Missus would mind me getting a spare one ::) Ken |

You too eh.... :( :( :'( :'( :'( That 03 estate with the private number has got to be worth it, even if just to sell the number and break the car if it turns out to be a wrong un.... :D :D |

I would imagine that plate is worth a few bob. :y
I had my eye on the LPG MV6 when it was listed a few weeks ago, but it went above what I would pay -bearing in mind the cost of getting it here - if it was near me I would be very interested in it, if I hadnt just bought another omega project car. ;) |

Yes, some chap on here has a '99 car which somebody hit. He recons insurance would value it at £800, but he will repair it for £300. Why not buy an '03 car, almost the same money, buy your car back from insurance for not much and weigh it in. You will have gone from a '99 to '03 and still have a few quid in the bank.
That's the financial sense. However its another mig scrapped, a car that will probably be capable of many more miles of useful service with a small amount of work. Such a shame. I sometimes think about scraping my car, with its few niggling problems and getting a late V6 a bit of fun, ..... but there again, I have almost become attached to her, spent too long respraying her, fitting LPG, servicing etc, and she has carried me and th family for many miles, with only a few problems (like head gaskets, foreign matter causing the cambelt to jump, crap waterpumps breaking, crap halfords alternators destroying halfords batteries.....) ;D Sod it stuff your Audi's BMW's VW's etc, I'm staying Mig based :y :y :y Ken |

We do seem to get more attached to cars the more time/money/effort we spend on them. It should really be the other way round i suppose, but logic doesnt seem to come into it where cars are concerned. ::)

I think he keeps bidding up his auction because there's never a reserve or feedback left but it keeps reappearing. |
